  • Capital Investment of £400m: A significant fraction of this investment will go to local manufacturing companies. This is because relatively traditional boiler construction technology (similar to coal fired power stations) will be utilized. Therefore, main components can be manufactured at mainstream engineering facilities.

  • Equipment Maintenance Costs of £8 - £10 million per year: The maintenance of the Plant (including the fuel storage area, fuel handling system and jetty), will require maintenance expenditure for the 25 year life of the project. It is likely that a large fraction of this will go to local suppliers (piping, motors, cabling, welders, fitters etc).

  • Salary: The direct and indirect salary bill is likely to exceed £7.5 m.
